Come as You Are

Come as you are.

With messy thoughts and wild feelings
Eyes and heart wide open
And arms open, too

With dreams sketched loosely and wild imagination
or with broken shards of hope
swept carefully into a dustpan
and together you and I will piece it back together

Come as you are.

. . .

We love people not for their perfections… but for their imperfections. When they let you see them at their worst, their walls lowered down and vulnerable. Real. When they let you into their depths, neck bared… knowing you could bite– or worse– run.

We love people when they lay their heart in our hands and they tell us things that are hard to say, things that are hard to hear. When they feel brutally real. Because that makes us feel brutally real. And suddenly, we become aware of how hidden some of the closest people to you have been.

If you are in touch with your own emotions. If you crave for someone to someone to hold space for you… if you seek genuineness and authenticity… Once that depth is felt, nothing else will do.
